Psychotherapy
I am a licensed psychotherapist with over a decade of clinical experience in private practice, community mental health, and nonprofit organizations in Chicago.
My psychotherapy formation includes a degree in psychology, with a foundation in developmental psychopathology and personality theories, graduate studies in social work and clinical mental health, followed by specialization in psychodynamic and attachment-based psychotherapy, and further study in global mental health.
My theoretical orientation developed in the line of Bowlby and Ainsworth, and continued through American and British psychodynamic schools of thought, with particular interest in the development of the self, object relations, defense mechanisms, and the relational conditions that shape emotional life.
My interest in global mental health reflects a broader concern with how culture and society shape psychic life, particularly under conditions of displacement, violence, migration, climate change and environmental instability.
I work with adults in individual psychotherapy and offer individual and group consultation to clinicians. My group consultation work includes Attachment Psychodynamic Consultation and Transcultural Attachment Consultation.
I serve as a mentor with the Psychotherapy Action Network (PsiAN), supporting early- and mid-career therapists in developing depth-oriented clinical practice.
